"Senior Ditch Day" is the 12th episode of the third season of The Suite Life on Deck.

Story[]

Zack, London, and Woody go to a posh beach club for senior ditch day, but when the bouncer won't let Woody in, London and Zack go without him. In an effort to get in, Woody claims himself as royalty and becomes a jerk to London and Zack when they ask to be in a VIP area with him. Valentina finds out that Woody is an impostor because the real Lord Pembleton arrives. Woody, Zack, and London are all tossed out. Zack realizes that he shouldn't have abandoned Woody.

Meanwhile, in an effort to keep their perfect attendance records, Bailey and Cody show up for class, which annoys Ms. Tutweiller who was looking forward to her day off, reading her book, "Pirate's Romance", about a handsome man named Captain Hawk and a woman he captured who wishes to marry him. Ms. Tuteweiller assigns Bailey and Cody a art task, thinking that they will do something creative and not academic. However, they both make something 'smart'. She tells them that there is more to life than studying and grades to which they dismiss. Ms. Tuteweiler gets annoyed and kicks them out of the classroom to have fun, saying that they will be graded on it. Ms. Tuteweiler tries to relax by hanging out in the hot tub and reading her book. Bailey jumps into the hot tub with her and interrupts her reading. Cody arrives and only dips his toe in the water. Bailey accuses Cody of not having fun while she's having "Grade A Fun" to tempt him into the tub. He gets into the water but complains about the germs and the bacteria, causing everyone to leave. In a last ditch attempt, Ms. Tutweiller decides to take both to play laser tag to encourage them to have fun. At first, Bailey and Cody bicker but soon enjoy the game. They gang up on Ms. Tutweiller, and talk about how much fun they're having. Ms. Tutweiller relents and says that she'll give them both a A if they stop. Bailey and Cody talk about how they used mathematics to play laser tag and they go off to write a paper about the experience. Ms. Tutweiller gives up after seeing that she couldn't get through to her students.

Ms. Tutweiller ends up being dumped by Captain Hawk in her daydream. She realizes that her mom sent her the book and throws it overboard.

Quotes[]

  • Cody: Hey, cool, ditch day. I'm totally going to ditch.
    • Bailey: Me too. I love to ditch.
    • Zack: Look out, teachers pet are going rogue.
    • Woody: What are you gonna do? Run up and down halls without a pass?
    • Zack: With scissors?
    • Bailey: That is so incredibly dangerous.
    • Cody: Yeah, they shouldn't even joke about that.
  • Miss Tutweiler: Look, not everything is about school and grades and studying!
    • Cody: Exactly where did you get your teaching credentials?
    • Miss Tutweiler: The University of None-Of-Your-Business!
    • Bailey: I bet she barely got in.
    • Cody: Mmm.
  • Bailey: Get to the good part yet? (sits in hot tub with Miss Tutweiller and accidentally splashes her book) Oh, sorry. Wanna borrow my book? I'm reading Quadratic Degeneracies in Fractional Equations.
    • Miss Tutweiller: No thanks, I'll just wait for the movie to come out.
    • Cody: Ladies? Having fun?
    • Bailey: Absolutely!
    • Miss Tutweiler: Please drown me.
  • Cody: (getting into the hot tub) Well, yes, what's more fun than bathing with a bunch of filthy strangers like part of a human beef stew?
    • Cody: (people leave the hot tub) Oh well, more bacteria broth for us. Excuse me good sir, you left your pus-y bandage.
  • Woody (in a British accent): How dare you touch me! I am royalty! If my blood were any bluer, I'd be a smurf!
  • London (after she was not allowed into the VIP lounge): I can't believe they won't let me into the VIP lounge! Even on the playground, I was a VIT-- very important toddler.
    • Valentina: NO! No no! If we let people like you in, then it would not be the VIP lounge, it would just be the "P" lounge.
    • London: Stop trying to confuse us with your fancy spelling "P" lounge!
    • Zack: Okay! okay!
  • Bailey: This laser tag thing is pretty fun!
    • Cody: I know! Now did you get your hits by correlating the velocity of the laser with the momentum of the target?
    • Bailey: Of course! While factoring in the dimensions of the room and the movement of the ship.
    • Cody: Oh, I forgot about the movement of the ship!
    • Bailey: You know what I want to do now?
    • Cody: (looks at her coyly) Write a paper about this?
    • Bailey: Exactly!

Trivia[]

  • Cody is revealed to never go to preschool, saying he "didn't need it."
  • Twilight is briefly mentioned when London says they let "those vampire kids" in the beach club.
  • Lady Gaga was said to be in the VIP area, Woody even tried to flirt with her, though Lady Gaga was actually never seen.
  • When Ms. Tutweiller is taking attendance she says, "Bueller, Bueller." This is a reference to the 1986 film, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Goofs[]

  • In this episode, Cody says he has a perfect attendance record since Kindergarten, but in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody episode "What the Hey?" Zack, Cody, and Bob skipped school to go to the mall. It could be likely that Cody was let off the hook when he and Zack were caught skipping school, meaning he get to keep his attendance record. Also, Bailey too couldn't have a perfect attendance record due to taking leave to visit Kettlecorn.
  • Zack says he doesn't sing in public, but in the Zack and Cody episode "Let Us Entertain You", he sang with Cody.
  • When Ms. Tutwieller fooled the students into thinking that there will be a test, London is seen sitting next to Bailey and Cody is next to London, but in the next shot, Cody is sitting next to Bailey.
  • When Bailey and Cody accidently scare Mrs. Tutweiler in the classroom, she drops her book on the ground and it is open. But on the next scene where she picks it up, the book is closed.
  • When Bailey puts her book down, she clearly puts it to the left (near Cody) yet when Cody enters the hot tub it's on the bundle of towels she picked it up from.
